Kadence - How to display specific posts in Posts blocks

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to select specific posts to display in Posts blocks. This method can be used for any Posts block on your site, but is particularly useful for "Trending Now" or "Most Popular" sections, where you'll likely want full control over which blog posts are displaying!

1. Create a custom tag

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Posts > Tags.
  2. Create a new unique tag to use for your Posts block. Examples: "Featured" or "Trending" (can be anything you'd like!)
  3. Go to Posts > All Posts.
  4. Click "Quick Edit" on a post you'd like to include in your Posts block, and enter your custom tag in the Tag field. Repeat and add the tag to as many posts as you need.

2. Use the tag in a Posts block

  1. In the page editor, click on a Posts block.
  2. Click on the "Filter by Tag" field and select the custom tag you created above.
  3. Now, only posts that contain that tag will appear in this particular Posts block.

Tips

  • Please note that this tutorial is totally optional; you can display posts by other parameters also (newest, random, by category, last modified, etc). Learn more at this link.
  • Don't want tags to appear in your posts? Go to Appearance > Customize > Posts/Pages Layout > Single Post Layout and deselect "Show Post Tags?"
  • If you have multiple Posts blocks and you'd like to choose different posts for each block, you can create as many unique tags as you'd like and follow the same instructions/method above.
