Navigation menu locations
The Mia theme has 4 navigation menu locations:
- Primary = Menu bar to the right of the site title
- Secondary = Not shown in the demo, but this menu could be incorporated into your header via the Header Builder
- Mobile = Menu that displays on mobile devices only
- Footer = Menu at the bottom left corner of your website
Primary Navigation
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- Click Create a New Menu. Give your menu a name (such as "Top Navigation") and click Create Menu.
- Add the pages/categories you want to have in your primary navigation menu.
- At the bottom of the page, under Menu Settings, select Primary. Save Menu.
Banner Above Navigation/Header Area
Haven displays a banner across the top of your site.
How to edit the text: Go to Appearance > Customize > Header > HTML and replace the text and link with your own.
How to remove the banner: Go to Appearance > Customize > Header. In the Header Builder, delete the HTML element.
How to replace the text with a navigation menu: If you prefer this area to contain a navigation menu instead, follow the same instructions above for removing the HTML element. Then in its place, add the Secondary Navigation element.
Secondary Navigation
Note: The secondary navigation is optional and not shown in the demo. To display this menu on your site, you'll need to add the Secondary Navigation element to the Header Builder at Appearance > Customize > Header.
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- Click Create a New Menu. Give your menu a name (such as "Secondary Navigation") and click Create Menu.
- Add the pages/categories you want to have in your secondary navigation menu.
- At the bottom of the page, under Menu Settings, select Secondary. Save Menu.
Mobile Navigation
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- Click Create a New Menu. Give your menu a name (such as "Mobile Navigation") and click Create Menu.
- Add the pages/categories you want to have in your mobile navigation menu.
- At the bottom of the page, under Menu Settings, select Mobile. Save Menu.

Footer Navigation
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- Click Create a New Menu. Give your menu a name (such as "Footer Navigation") and click Create Menu.
- Add the pages/categories you want to have in your footer navigation menu.
- At the bottom of the page, under Menu Settings, select Footer. Save Menu.
