Kadence - Starter Templates Plugin Issue 2026

May 12, 2026: We're currently aware of an issue affecting the Kadence Starter Templates plugin. In a recent plugin update (version 2.3.0), an important dropdown menu on the Starter Templates screen was removed, which can prevent users from accessing the 17th Avenue module and importing themes normally.

We've reported this issue to the Kadence team and they've confirmed the bug, so we expect an official fix soon! In the meantime, if you're unable to import your theme, below is a quick workaround you can use while we wait for the update.

Temporary fix: Downgrade the plugin

1. Go to Plugins > Add New.
2. Search for WP Rollback. Install and then activate the plugin.
3. Go to Plugins and find the Starter Templates by Kadence plugin. Under the plugin title, click "Rollback."
4. Select the previous version (version 2.2.14) and click Rollback > Rollback Now.
5. Wait for the rollback process to complete, then refresh your dashboard. Navigate to Site Assist > Starter Templates > 17th Avenue to proceed with importing your theme.

After your theme is imported, you're welcome to either update the plugin again, or delete it entirely. It's not needed anymore once your theme has imported.
