Kadence - How to change the number of columns on category archive pages

By default, category archive pages in our themes display posts in a 3-column grid on desktop and a 2-column grid on mobile. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to adjust these settings.

Change the Number of Columns on Desktop

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize > Posts/Pages Layout > Archive Layout
  2. Locate the Post Archive Columns setting and select the number of columns you'd like to display: 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  3. Click Publish to save your changes.

Change the Number of Columns on Mobile

By default, archive pages display posts in two columns on mobile. If you'd prefer your posts to display in a single column, you can add a small CSS snippet to your site.

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
  2. Copy and paste this CSS snippet into the Additional CSS box.
  3. Click Publish to save your changes.

Your category archive posts will now display in a single column on mobile devices.
