Brioche - Newsletter Signup Form

The Brioche theme includes placeholder newsletter signup forms that you'll replace with forms from your preferred email marketing provider, such as Mailchimp, Kit, Flodesk, MailerLite, etc.

Brioche also includes a Newsletter Block widget area, which allows you to manage your newsletter signup form in one central location and display it throughout your website using a simple shortcode.

Step 1: Create Your Signup Form

Log in to your email marketing provider and create (or locate) the signup form you'd like to display on your website. Most providers will provide an HTML embed code for the form.

Please note: The appearance and styling of your newsletter form will largely come from your email marketing provider. While some providers allow you to customize fonts, colors, and spacing, others have more limited styling options. Flodesk and Kit are our favorite options that allow for plenty of customization!

Step 2: Copy the Embed Code

Copy the HTML embed code provided by your email marketing service.

Step 3: Replace the Placeholder Form

Brioche includes a Newsletter Block widget area that controls most of the newsletter signup forms displayed throughout your site.

To replace the placeholder form:

  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Locate the Brioche Newsletter Block widget area.
  3. Open the existing Custom HTML block.
  4. Delete the placeholder HTML code.
  5. Paste in the embed code from your email marketing provider.
  6. Click Update to save your changes.

That's it! Any newsletter sections using the newsletter shortcode will now display your new signup form automatically.

How the Newsletter Block Works

Rather than adding your newsletter form separately to every page, Brioche uses a shortcode to display the form you've configured under Appearance > Widgets > Brioche Newsletter Block.

The shortcode is:

[brioche_newsletter]

You'll find this shortcode already included in the pre-designed newsletter sections throughout the Brioche theme.

This means you only need to set up your newsletter form once. If you ever want to change your form in the future, simply update the Custom HTML block in the Newsletter Block widget area, and the change will be reflected everywhere the shortcode is used.

Want to add a newsletter form to another page? You can insert one of Brioche's pre-designed newsletter sections from the Design Library, or add a Shortcode block to any page and enter [brioche_newsletter].

Footer Newsletter Form

Brioche also includes a newsletter signup form in the footer. This form is managed separately from the Newsletter Block widget area, so you'll need to replace its placeholder code as well.

  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets.
  2. Locate the Footer 5 widget area.
  3. Open the existing Custom HTML block containing the placeholder newsletter form.
  4. Delete the placeholder HTML code.
  5. Paste in your email provider's embed code.
  6. Click Update to save your changes.

Your footer newsletter form is now connected to your email marketing provider!

Need to Customize Your Form?

If you'd like to change the colors, fonts, button style, fields, or overall appearance of your signup form, these settings are typically managed through your email marketing provider rather than within WordPress.
