I can't access my dashboard, help!
In August 2016, Genesis released an update that was incompatible with Wordpress 4.6. At the time, it caused many users to get locked out their dashboards and/or an error page to display on their website. This issue is barely relevant anymore (it's now 2018), but a small handful of sites that are using specific older versions of Genesis may still have this issue. The fix is to update both Genesis and Wordpress to their latest versions. Contact us if you need us to send you the latest version of Genesis.
If you have access to your site's dashboard, go to Appearance > Themes. Activate one of the default Wordpress themes and then delete the Genesis Framework entirely. Upload the newest version of Genesis at Appearance > Themes > Add New.
If you do not have access to your dashboard, log into your hosting cPanel and navigate to the File Manager. Go to public_html > wp-content > themes. Delete the existing Genesis folder. Upload the updated zipped Genesis file. Once it has uploaded, select it and then click "Extract."
Once you have successfully reinstalled Genesis, go ahead and update Wordpress to the newest version in your dashboard. Then reactivate your 17th Avenue child theme at Appearance > Themes. Your site and dashboard should be working perfectly!
