How to upload a favicon

A favicon is the small image that displays in the browser tab next to your website title. It will also display next to your website title in search results. A favicon that matches your branding can go a long way in making your site appear more professional + put together!

How to upload a custom favicon

1. Create a 512x512px favicon image in the editing program of your choice (such as Canva or Photoshop). Save your favicon as a .png or .ico.
2. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > General.
3. Under Site Icon, click Choose a Site Icon (or Change Site Icon if you already have a favicon) and upload your favicon image.
4. Click Save Changes. Reload your site to see your new favicon in action!

Note: Your new favicon should appear right away on your website, but it can take Google up to a few weeks to update your favicon in search results. If you'd like to speed up the process, you can ask Google to recrawl your URL.
