Genesis - Header area not displaying correctly

If you're seeing widgets at the top of your site or in the header area that look out of place, we'll show you what to do in this article! It's not uncommon for widgets to jump around to other widget areas when switching themes. The most common widgets we see jump into an incorrect widget area are Archives, Categories, and Meta. For this reason, we recommend removing any default WordPress widgets prior to installing your theme.

How to remove these widgets

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard > Appearance > Widgets.
  2. Open the Header Right widget area.
  3. Click open each widget in this area and click "Delete."

If using the Audrey theme

Do not remove the Navigation Menu widget in the Header Right widget area (any other widgets should be removed).

If using the Harper theme

Do not remove the Navigation Menu and Custom HTML widgets in the Header Right widget area (any other widgets should be removed).

If using the Uptown theme

Do not remove the Navigation Menu widget in the Header Right widget area (any other widgets should be removed).
