Genesis - How to add a site-wide background color

The site background color in all of our themes is white. We generally don't recommend changing the background color, and for that reason, we do not include a site-wide background color setting in the Customizer. But if you'd like to add a background, we'll show you how!

How to add a background color to your site

1. Click here and copy the code snippet.
2. Navigate to your WordPress dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
3. Paste the code in the box.
4. Change #000000 to your desired hex code color.
5. Click Publish to save.

Note: If there are certain areas that do not change after adding the snippet (i.e. your footer widgets), there should be a color setting for those areas at Appearance > Customize > Colors.
