Uptown - Set up navigation menus
For detailed instructions on how to create and use menus in Wordpress, click here.
The Uptown theme supports three navigation menus: the Primary Navigation Menu, the Secondary Navigation Menu, and Header Navigation Menu.
- Primary Navigation Menu = The scrolling menu at the very top of the page.
- Secondary Navigation Menu = The menu underneath your site title or logo. This menu is not shown in the demo and would only be used in place of the Header Right menu if want to center-align your site title.
- Header Navigation Menu = The menu to the right of the header.
Add primary navigation
- In your Wordpress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- Give your menu a name (such as "Top Navigation") and click Create Menu.
- Add the pages/categories you want to have in your top navigation menu.
- At the bottom of the page, under Menu Settings, select Primary Navigation Menu. Save Menu.
- For instructions on how to add your social icons to the top navigation menu, click here.
Add header navigation
- In your Wordpress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- Give your menu a name (such as "Header Navigation") and click Create Menu.
